Laura has her bachelor’s in social work from Baylor University and her master’s in social work from top rated Washington University in St. Louis. In addition to over fifteen years in the social work field, Laura has worked in higher education since 2008 teaching and leading others in the profession. Her experience and education give her a unique perspective with those she works with.
Laura primarily works with women who have experienced trauma, anxiety, and depression. If you have ever felt like your past experiences consistently shape your responses to the world around you, healing can be found. If you have a sense of hypervigilance or inability to calm yourself and feel safe in your body, Laura would love to help you process things in order to find a safer way forward in your life.
Trauma can come from many places. Childhood, abuse or neglect of any form, witnessing a loss of a loved one, unexpected changes in life, a birth of a child that does not go smoothly, a medical diagnosis, and many other common life experiences can happen in a way that leave us unable to move forward without flashbacks, living in fear, and consistently trying to find a way to protect ourselves.
If this resonates with you, and you want to find a healthier way forward, Laura would love to work with you. She is an LMSW under supervision for her LCSW and sees clients in person in Flower Mound, TX or virtually from anywhere in Texas or Missouri. You can find out more, contact her directly, or even schedule a free consultation on her client portal found here: Counseling Consultation
Alternatively, if you do not live in Texas or Missouri and have ever felt like you don’t know how to progress in life or are burnt out, then life coaching might be a good fit for you. Laura works often with moms who feel like they somehow lost themselves in the midst of parenthood. If you ever feel overwhelmed by the need to constantly adjust to new seasons of life and circumstances, then life coaching might also be for you.
Unlike other coaching programs, Laura do not use a predetermined set of steps to help individuals she works with. Rather, you are seen as an individual with unique needs. After an initial discovery meeting, she takes your goals, circumstances, and hopes to create a process and plan that fits your unique needs.
